Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant, Sharon.
Sharon Ann (nee Warkentien) Tiedt was given life by her Creator at her conception and was born on February 12th, 1942. The child of Elmer and Amanda (nee Max) Warkentien. On March 8, 1942, she received the gift of Holy Baptism, and became a child of God at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillside, by Rev. Otto Heerwagen. She was also Confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillside on March, 25th 1956 by Rev. E.H. Pittelko.
On September 3rd, 1966 she was united in Holy Matrimony to her beloved husband Michael Bruce Tiedt at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillside. They were blessed with the gift of three children; Michael (Amy), Christopher (Amy), and Sharon Ann (Jamin). The loving grandmother of seven Michael III (Brooke), Andrew, Braeden, Madeline, Wyatt, Logan, and Anna and Great Grandmother of Jordan and Ava family meant everything to Sharon.
God blessed Sharon with many talents, she had a beautiful singing voice, loved arts and crafts, gardening, and was a phenomenal cook. Sharon was a natural born caretaker, she helped care for both of her grandmothers growing up and later earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. Throughout her over 40 year Nursing career Sharon cared for thousands in both Pediatrics and later in Geriatrics.
Sharon not only served many throughout her professional career, but she also was an active participant in her children’s school, Immanuel Lutheran; serving as a part of the Parent Teacher League, Room mom, Hot Lunch lady, teaching arts and crafts in the classroom, running the School Rummage sale, and was also a member of the school board for many years.
A resident of Hillside for over 77 years Sharon loved her town and was instrumental in the formation of the Hillside Historical Society, of which she was the President for many years. Also an avid lover of nature Sharon loved the time she spent with her family at their summer home in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
On October 16th 2025 God received Sharon home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Sharon.
