Phillip E. Mayes passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 75. Beloved Husband for a loving 50 years to Norma Mayes. Devoted Father of LaShaun (Fiancée Tia Guice) Mayes and Michael Williams. Loving Son of the late Bracey & the late Mattie. Dear Brother of Thomas (Deborah) Mayes, the late Edward (the late Jenny) Mayes, the late Claude Mayes, the late Frances (the late Joe) Twilley and the late Jenny (Robert) Dunning. Dear Uncle to many Nieces & Nephews – especially Anthony “Butch” Lewis and Leon Williams. Loving Friend to Daryl Rucker, Roy Morgan and Sam Corbbins. Fond Companion to the late Furry Friend Muttley.

Phillip deeply cherished his family, demonstrating his love and commitment to those closest to him. Alongside his devotion to his family, he also found great enjoyment in street racing, which brought excitement and adventure into his life. Phillip was a singer who entertained family and friends. His performances brought joy and created memorable moments for those close to him. Whether at gatherings or informal events, Phillip's singing was a source of happiness and connection among his loved ones.

Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162 (Located between Mannheim & Wolf Road).
