Peter James Fisher

Peter James Fisher passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the golden age of 85. BELOVED Husband of the late Christine Fisher, nee Lacy. Devoted Father of Barbara J. Fisher and Sandra Wright. Loving Son of the late Birel Fisher, Sr. and the late Ida Conley, nee Nelson. Fond Grandfather of Zacaria A. Fisher-Porties. Dear Brother of Ruby Conley Head and Edith Fisher Blake. Dear Uncle and Great-Uncle to a host of Nieces and Nephews.

Peter graduated from high school and joined the Army. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Luke Baptist Church in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Peter worked as a Clerk for the United States Postal Service for 37 years. He enjoyed music, bowling, fishing, grilling on holidays for family gatherings, photography, yard work during hot summer days, fixing his car, and watching old western movies and sports. Peter was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Maywood and served as a member of the S.E.E.D. Ministry.

Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, IL 60162 (located between Mannheim & Wolf Road). Funeral to follow on Friday, August 8th, 2025.
