Pedro Favela Obituary

Pedro Favela passed away peacefully on Friday, February 12th, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family in the tranquility of his own home at the Golden age of 78. Beloved Husband of Josefa nee Vizcarra for a loving 56 years. Devoted Father of Lucia (David) Arenas, Marta (Luis) Tellez, Delia (Nicolas) Felix, Sandra (Jose Luis) Nevarez and Irene (Jaime) Herrera. Loving Son of the late Manuel and the late Virginia nee Blanco, Favela. Fond Grandfather of Gabriel Angel, Emmanuel, David Alexander and Jonathan, Alexa and Brianna, Christian, Brandon and Nicolas Daniel, Adrian, Monika, Aaron Matthew, Andrew Joseph and Ivana Mia. Dear Brother of Ofelia (the late Felicito) Chaidez, Alicia (Mariano) Rivota, Ninfa (Jose) Chaidez, Arnoldo (Leticia) Favela, Fabiola Favela, the late Adulfo (Amalia) Favela, the late Jaime (Pilar) Favela. Dear Uncle and Great Uncle to many. Pedro was a dear friend and compadre to many. Pedro was born and raised in La Purisima, Durango, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States at the age of 17. He lived his life full of passion, integrity and joy, and instilled all these qualities in his daughters and grandchildren. He was the ultimate patriarch for his family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He will be most remembered for his charismatic personality and love for his family.

Family and friends are to gather for the visitation on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, IL 60162 (located between Mannheim and Wolf Road). Funeral to follow Wednesday, February 17th, 2021 from Russo’s Hillside Chapels at 9:00 AM proceeding to The Shrine of Our Lady Mt. Carmel Parish, 1101 N. 23rd Ave, Melrose Park. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated promptly at 10:00 AM. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. For additional information call (708) 449-5300. Due to current health guidelines, WE REQUIRE THAT ALL GUESTS ENTERING THE BUILDING WEAR A FACIAL COVERING AND MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING. We ask that you exit the funeral home after paying your respects so that all visitors may have an opportunity to do the same. Please refrain from bringing food or beverages into the funeral home. The coffee room is not available at this time.
