Luz Elva Mendoza passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 11, 2025. Beloved Wife of Waldo Mendoza for a loving 56 years. Devoted Mother of Margarita (Ramon) Mendoza, Jaime Mendoza, and Rodolfo Mendoza. Loving Daughter of the late Zenon Michel and the late Margarita Posada. Fond Grandmother of Raelyn Mendoza and Kenji Mendoza. Dear Sister to many brothers and sisters. Cherished Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
With profound sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Luz Elva Mendoza Michel, who, at 76 years of age, returned to the Lord’s embrace on November 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family
Born in Durango, Mexico, daughter of Zenon Michel and Margarita Posada, Luz Elva married and came to the United States in 1970 where she fulfilled many dreams as she lived a life marked by faith, love, and hope. She was a dearly loved daughter, a faithful and loving wife, an exemplary mother, a sweet and tender grandmother, as well as a cherished sister, aunt, cousin, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, and dear friend.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Waldo Mendoza; her children Margarita (Ramón Peña), Jaime, and Rodolfo; her granddaughter Raelyn Marie; her step grandson Ramon (Hanne), her step great grandson Sebastian, and her favorite fur grandson Kenji, all of whom will carry her forever in their hearts.
Luz Elva was an example of strength and compassion — a true beacon of love and generosity. In every gesture, every word, and every smile, she reflected God’s love. Her love, kindness, and warmth will live on in all of us, in the memories we shared, and in the affection she left in every heart.
Let’s all remember her joy and laughter, her jokes and stories; her bendiciones, and lastly, her immensely delicious tortillas de harina! May she rest in paradise, and may her light continue to guide us always.
