Lucina Michel “Mama China”, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the golden age of 97. Beloved Wife of the Gabino Michel. Devoted Mother of Pepe (Rose) Michel, Raul (Socorro) Michel, Gabino (Julia) Michel, Mony (the late Alfredo) Garcia, Elfy (Romulo) Payan, Andres (Chapa) Michel, Lita (Luis) Mendez, Moy (Nancy) Michel, Cuko (Yamin) Michel and the late Danielito Michel. Loving Daughter of the late Jesus and the late Inocencia Gutierrez. Fond Grandmother of 28, Great-Grandmother of 41 and a host of Great-Great Grandchildren. Dear Sister of Esperanza (Abdon) Michel, Carmen Gutierrez Zavala, the late LaZaro (the late Longina) Gutierrez, the late Juvencio (the late Catalina) Gutierrez, the late Pascual Gutierrez Zavala and the late Armando Gutierrez Zavala. Family and Friends are to gather for the visitation on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162 (Located between Mannheim & Wolf Road). Funeral to follow on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from Russo’s Hillside Chapels. Proceeding to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1101 N. 23rd Avenue, Melrose Park.
