Louis E. Scola

Louis E. Scola passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2026, at the age of 88. Beloved Husband of the late Celeste M. Scola. Devoted Father of Donald (Tina) Scola, Jack (Deb) Scola, Pete Scola, Lou (the late Marlene) Scola, and Sam Scola. Fond Grandfather of Michael, Anthony, Zachary, Louie, Celeste, Joey, and Louis. Beloved Great-Grandfather of Sophia, Santino, Nicholas, Camden, and Tyler. Dear Brother of Jack (Sue) Scola. Fond Brother-in-law of John (Bonnie) Iacabozzi and Peter Iacabozzi Dear Uncle and Great-Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Louis was born in Chicago in 1937 to Jack Scola and Emily (Coco) Scola, he was raised on Taylor Street, surrounded by a large and loving family. He cherished the company of his family and friends, always enjoying gatherings filled with Italian food and laughter.

In 1959, he met and married the love of his life, Celeste (Iacabozzi). Together, they raised five sons and built a strong and enduring marriage that lasted 65 years. He worked diligently as a teamster in the city for many years, exemplifying a strong work ethic and dedication to his family.

He found joy in playing cards and games, and he loved spending time fishing, enjoying the outdoors, and watching westerns. He was also a devoted fan of the Black Hawks, Bears, and Cubs, cheering for his favorite Chicago teams.

Above all, he deeply loved his Lord Jesus.

Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation on Monday, August 31,2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, IL 60162 (Located between Mannheim and Wolf Road). Funeral to follow on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Russo’s Hillside Chapels.
