Lorena Morales Obituary

Lorena Morales passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the age of 77.

Lorena passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 77, after a hard-fought battle with uterine cancer. She was born on June 10, 1949, in Jalapa, Guatemala, and immigrated to Chicago, Illinois, in January 1989.

With only a 6th grade education from Guatemala, she taught herself to read, write, and speak English, and went on to become a U.S. citizen. Through her love and sacrifice, she gave her three daughters a better life than she had known and the brighter future she had always wished for herself.

Lorena worked as a housekeeper for families who cared for her deeply. Even their pets adored her. She loved gardening, cooking for others, and found joy in caring for people throughout her life.

She was a devout Catholic who generously dedicated her time to her church, joyfully shared her voice in choir, and faithfully served as a lector during Mass.

She is survived by her three daughters, two granddaughters, four grandsons, one great-grandson, and 10 fur-grandbabies.
