Lamar Johnson, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the tranquility of his own home on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the age of 84. Beloved Husband for a loving 62 years of Dessie, nee Henderson, Johnson. Devoted Father of Dexter Johnson, Brenda (Gregory) Dobbs, Paul (Latrice) Johnson, Angela (Kelly) McGee Sr., the late Trina Johnson, the late Vickie Jenkins and Jacqueline (Michael) Jefferson. Loving Son of the late Lamar and the late Ethel Johnson. Fond Grandfather of Dexter (Laura) Johnson II, Lagina (Gregory) Dabbs, Joy Dobbs, Trina (Victor Jefferson) Johnson, Britnee Dobbs, Rhenna McGee and Kelly McGee Jr. Fond Great Grandfather of Kendall Johnson, Alexandrea Dabbs, Jillian Dabbs and Dexter Johnson III. Dear Brother of Freda Brown, Julia Spears, Dorothy Spears, Mary Melton, Roy (Doris) Melton, Donnell Melton, Vercy Jones, Ella (Marion) Bryant, Paulette Melton and the late Ida (Ward) Walker. Dear Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Loving Friend of Fletcher “Sonny” Lewis for 78 years. Lamar was a proud worker of Oscar Mayer for 37 years & Enterprise. He enjoyed baseball especially the Chicago Cubs. Lamar also enjoyed playing Bass with his band.
