Julia Marie Granato, nee Andrecopulos passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the golden age of 95. Beloved Wife of the late Sam Granato. Devoted Mother of the late Michael Allen Granato, David Brian Granato, Robert Anthony (Linda) Granato, Mary Kathryn (David) Dungan, Lisa Marie (Robert) Johnson and Michael Stephen. Loving Daughter of the late Gregory Andrecopulos & the late Katherine Cummings. Loving Grandmother of Robert, Jr., Lauren, Samantha, Michael, Gabriel, Kathryn, Matthew, Mitchell, Lucas and a Great-Grandchild on the way. Dear Sister of Sophie (Ralph) Bonello, the late Georgia Andrecopulos and Patricia (John) Granato. Loving Sister-in-law of the late Julia (the late James) Bonomo, the late Anthony (the late Marie) Granato, the late Pasqualina Granato, the late Vienna (the late James) Daniels, the late Yolanda Cotrano, the late John (Patsy) Granato, the late Virginia (the late Rocco) Ricci and Elvera (the late Richard) Fimiano. Dear Aunt of many Nieces & Nephews. Loving Cousin and Friend of Mary Zabin. Life-long member of the Bridgeport “The Juggarettes”.

Julia loved being a mother and was truly The Best Mom! She enjoyed cooking, gathering extended family and friends around the table, photography, traveling and music – especially classical music. She loved making Christmas a special time for all and treated her loved ones to her famous rice pudding. She was an avid cross-stitcher, which she lavished upon her family and friends. Julia was a faithful servant to the Lord and her children are forever grateful to their mother for passing this on to their lives. 

Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162 (Located between Mannheim & Wolf Road). Funeral to follow on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from Russo’s Hillside Chapels at 9:00 a.m. Proceeding to Visitation Parish, 779 S. York Street, Elmhurst, Illinois. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated promptly at 10:00 a.m. Entombment at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery / Queen of All Saints Mausoleum / St. Jude Alcove.
