Joseph J. Sands, U.S. Army WWII Veteran, passed away peacefully in the tranquility of his own home, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Golden Age of 96. Beloved Husband of the late Mary Ellen Sands. Devoted Father of Carolyn Durocher, Ava Sands and Joseph Sands Jr. Loving Son of the late Rose Sanchez, nee Rendo, and the late Manuel Sanchez. Fond Grandfather of Eric S. Paige and Gregory S. Paige. Dear Brother of Florence “Dolly” (the late John) Alebick, John (Dolores) Sanchez, the late Raymond (Ann) Sanchez and Marie (Pete) Garofolo. Dear Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162 (Located between Mannheim and Wolf Road). Funeral to follow Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from Russo’s Hillside Chapels at 10:00 a.m. until time of Chapel Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W.
