Joseph L. Palumbo, age 72, of Elmwood Park, distinguished businessman, successful land developer and visionary, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 18, 1952 to the late Peter A. Palumbo and the late Irene Ann Palumbo. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his Beloved Wife, Virginia (nee De Salvo). Devoted Father of Christina (Jason) Loeffler, Terra (John) Nazha, Irene Palumbo, Patricia (Michael) Katsenios, Peter (Natina) Palumbo, Joseph (Cara) Palumbo, Jenna (Reece) Raethke. Fond Grandfather of Brayden, Payten, Bria, Preslie Loeffler, Joseph and Johnny Nazha, Theodore, Michael and Joseph Katsenios, Valentina and Gianna Palumbo, Atlas Raethke, and Sofia Palumbo. Dear Brother of Sebastian Samuel (Mary) Palumbo. Fond Nephew of Sam "Junior” (Judy) Palumbo and the late Marie (the late Gus) Renella. Dear Uncle of many.
Joseph graduated from Holy Cross High School, followed by Bradley University and went on to lead a successful life as a business owner and developer. He was a visionary and builder, both in personal and professional life. He loved music, enjoyed hosting his beloved friends and family, and all who came in his path was always included. His generous heart will be remembered by all who were honored to share a toast with Joe.
Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation Friday, July 12, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Illinois 60162 (Located between Mannheim and Wolf Road). Funeral to follow Saturday, July 13, 2024, for a one-hour Visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels.
