Joanne Thompson nee Abruzino passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 while surrounded by her loving family at the Golden age of 90. Beloved Wife of the late Thomas R. for a loving 65 years. Devoted Mother of Thomas Thompson and Nancy Brogato. Loving Daughter of the late Philip and the late Theresa nee Damato, Abruzino. Fond Grandmother of Lena (Steven) Bongiovanni and Sabrina Brogato. Dear Sister of Dolores “Chickie” (the late Frank) Manzella and the late Anthony (the late Charlotte) Abruzino. Dear Aunt of Frankie, Theresa, Patti, Laura and Philip. Great Aunt and Great-Great Aunt to many.

Family and Friends are to gather for the visitation Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162 (Located Between Mannheim and Wolf Road). Funeral to follow Monday, January 19, 2026 10:00 a.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels. Family and Friends are to gather for a 1 hour Visitation until the time of a Chapel Service celebrated promptly at 11:00 a.m. Followed by a Special Words of Remembrance Celebration.
