James Dominic Capezio passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the golden age of 91. Devoted Father of Lisa Capezio, Jennifer Trannon and Elizabeth (Carmen) Olmetti. Loving Son of the late James and the late Marjory, nee Trimaloff, Capezio. Fond Grandfather of Joseph Gucwa, Alex Trannon, Katie Gucwa, Alia (Anthony) Ostuni, Nicole Gucwa and Elijah Trannon.
Jimmy was born on August 20, 1934, and lived on the near-west side of Chicago at Grand and Damen for most of his early life. He was a graduate of University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Jimmy C lived one of the fullest, happiest lives, brimming with joy. He took the time to enjoy his favorite things: the racetrack, good food, and the richest circle of friends and family. He is fondly remembered through belly laughter, silly songs, hoping for “big winners” on scratch-off tickets, black and white movies, Jujubees and licorice, homemade Italian food, horse races, St. Joseph’s Day, and black olives. We will miss his incredible storytelling, but we know he is looking forward to Sunday dinner with his parents and all the cousins who are waiting for him.
