Italia’s life journeys made her into the tough woman she was. Living through natural disasters, troubled times, and dictatorships, she fought through every battle life threw at her and always came out even stronger. She conquered all.
As a young girl, Italia’s passion for the arts emerged from the family business. Her parents organized incredible spectacles that traveled throughout Italy, featuring Italia in various performances. The one thing Italia loved more than the arts was her childhood sweetheart and husband Antonino. Italia and Antonino had known each other for almost their whole lives, growing up together in Marsala, Sicily. They went on to have 4 beautiful children. Determined to raise their kids here for a better life, the pair embarked on the journey to America. She, along with her husband sacrificed everything for her kids. Italia cherished every minute of her life, especially around the ones she loved.
Italia’s love was endless, whether you were her own child, grandchild, great-grandchild, or stranger you felt her love. Although sometimes it was tough love, it was as real as it gets. She was always honest, no matter who she spoke to. Italia was strong and assertive, always out of care and love. To those who were blessed to know her, her profound love will stay in our hearts forever .
