Helen Short-Maxa, nee Cesario, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Golden Age of 95. Beloved Wife of the late John J. Short, Jr. and the late Donald J. Maxa. Devoted Mother of Deborah A. Short and the late John J. (MaryAnn) Short. Devoted Step mother of Jeanine Gadomski. Loving Daughter of the late Frank and the late Maria Cesario. Fond Grandmother of Daniel (Erin) Short, Kelly Short, Katherine (Andrew) Murray, Justin Gadomski, Kathy Gadomski and Kris Gadomski. Dear Sister of the late Joseph (the late Elma) Cesario, the late Carrie Sylvester-Morini and the late Louis (Catherine) Cesario. Dear Aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was known for her generous heart and lived a full life marked by laughter, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Helen was an adored matriarch who cherished every moment with her grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Story Point Assisted Living and Accent Care Hospice for the love and compassion shown to Helen.
Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Chapel Service celebrated promptly at 11:00 a.m. at Russo's Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162 (Located between Mannheim and Wolf Road).
