Grace Niemat Girgis, nee Zachary, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the golden age of 90. Beloved Wife of the late Joseph Fahim Girgis. Devoted Mother of Samuel (Rita) Girgis, John (Rhonda) Girgis, Philip (Magdalen) Girgis and the late Peter (Dawn Niedermayer) Girgis. Loving Daughter of the Sadek & the late Amina Zachary. Fond Grandmother of Brook (Eric) Shinabarger, Brittany (Joshua) Bell, Paul (Kelli) Girgis, Matthew (Sarah) Girgis, Ashley (Scott) Melson, Timothy (Rachel) Girgis, Peter (Sally) Girgis, Christopher (Abigail) Girgis, Danielle (Merit) Davey, Nicholas (Kaitlyn) Girgis, Abigail Girgis, Jennifer Girgis and Jayden Girgis. Fond Great-Grandmother of Margaux, Naomi, Jack, Isla, Thomas, Judah, Colette, Benjamin, Henry, Cal, Murphy, Audry, Emma, George, Theodore, Lilly and Elizabeth. Grace was a devout Christian who shared her faith freely. Together with her husband Joseph, she was involved in planting churches in Egypt and Chicago. Grace was deeply committed to her family and church community, mentoring many individuals and encouraging others to grow spiritually. Always ready to share her faith with others, her favorite recommendation was to Google “born again”. 

Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation on January 10, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162 (Located between Mannheim & Wolf Road). A Words of Remembrance Service will be celebrated promptly from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Funeral to follow on Saturday, January 11, 2025 – ALL Family & Friends are to meet directly at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, Illinois.
