Gelsomina Bruno (nee Guido), lovingly known as Mimma, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, while surrounded by her loving and devoted family in the tranquility of her own home, at the golden age of 86.
Born in Italy, she came to the United States in 1963, where she built a beautiful life anchored in love, faith, and the enduring bonds of family.
She was the loving daughter of the late Sarafino and the late Ersilia, nee Prezzemolo, Guido
She is survived by her beloved husband, Giuseppe “Joe” for a loving 62 years, along with her three cherished daughters: Anna (Robert) Irsuto, Patrizia Bruno, and Brunella (Patrizio) Sorrentino. Her legacy continues through her six adored grandchildren—Louie, Niko, Anthony, Julia, Isabella, and Luca. Loving sister of Edda (the late Benito Mengna) Guido, the late Enzo (the late Maria), Guido, the late Elio Guido, the late Salvatore (the late Teresa) Guido, and the late Elsa Guido. Loving Aunt and Great-Aunt to many, and lifelong friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and grace.
A true matriarch, Mimma devoted her life to nurturing her family. Her home was a sanctuary of love, laughter, and generosity—a place where everyone felt welcomed, comforted, and cared for.
She had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into treasured memories, especially during the holidays. With thoughtful decorations, lovingly prepared meals, and the joy she poured into every detail, she created magical traditions that her family will carry forward with deep affection. Her gatherings were never about perfection, but about love—pure, selfless, and abundant.
Though the holiday lights may now be dimmed, her light will continue to shine brightly from above—guiding, warming, and inspiring those she leaves behind.
