Eugenia “Jeannie” Turano nee Dickman passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family at the age of 78. Beloved Wife of “Tony” Umberto A. Turano for a loving 56 years. Devoted Mother of Gena, Jennifer (Scott Golchert), Jessica (Mike Bayley). Loving Daughter of the late Robert and the late Frances nee Malotke, Dickman. Fond grandmother of Donny, Luca and Jack. Dear Cousin of Lynn Vokoun. Dear Sister-in-Law of Giancarlo (Karen) and the late Renato (the late Patricia). Dear Aunt of Lisa, Renee & Mario, Joe, Giancarlo and Anthony. Dear Great Aunt, to many.
Our mother, Jean, was a true beauty—both inside and out. She was equal parts grace and grit, sensitivity and strength. She was a fiercely devoted, daughter, wife, mother, and friend.
If you were lucky enough to know her, you knew she was open, honest, and straight to the point—but always delivered with kindheartedness and a truly unique sense of humor.
She was a caretaker in every sense of the word, putting others’ needs and feelings ahead of her own—even until the very end.
We feel especially blessed that in her last few months, we were able to return the favor, as she allowed us to take care of her for once. And while we know that must have been hard for her, she did it with the same grace and humor that she brought to everything in life.
We are unspeakably devastated by this loss, but we know how lucky we are to have had this brave beauty in our lives for as long as we did—and even luckier to have had one last beautiful goodbye.
