Gene met Mary on a street corner in the city of Chicago and they married in 1959. They raised their family in Hillside, IL and had a wonderful life. Gene and Mary traveled everywhere they hoped to go. Gene’s favorite trips were Italy, Hawaii, and a Disney Cruise. In one word, Gene was a rock. He told wonderful stories, gave wise advice, and was always there when anyone needed him. He could fix anything and figure out any problem. Gene grew up the oldest of eleven in the City of Chicago. He worked as a printer/lithographer. During the course of his career he worked at American Printer and Lithographers in Niles where he was able to excel and travel to Germany to train on computerized presses. Later in his career he moved onto Buhl Press, in Hillside where he retired. Once he retired he kept himself busy with various jobs, golf, and breakfast with his brothers, never able to stay still.
Mary and Gene were devout parishioners at St. Domitilla church and were active members of the Italian Catholic federation where they met many lifelong friends.
Gene will continue to be an inspiration to us all and will live in our hearts forever.
