Basilia Herrera

Basilia Herrera, nee Arambula, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the Golden Age of 81. Beloved Wife of the late Roberto. Devoted Mother of Edgar (Lisa) Herrera, Roberto (Sandra) Herrera and Abe (Kristy) Herrera. Loving Daughter of the late Nicolas “Nico” and the late Rafaela “Vita”. Fond Grandmother of Ethan Wolfgang, Sophie Alessandra, Nicholas Ernesto (Tatiana), Diego Sebastian, Aliyah Celeste, Leila Sierra, Enya Vita, Nathan Donald, Lylah Nicolette and Aiden Benjamin. Fond Great Grandmother of Nico Alexander. Dear Sister of Socorro (the late Jose Luis) Duarte, Fr. Ambrosio “Bocho” Arambula, Hortencia (the late Francisco) Aguirre, Maria (Eliazar) Martinez, Maria Ana (Melecio) Aguirre and Pedro (Reyna) Arambula. Dear Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Basilia was born in La Purisima, Tepehuanes, Durango, Mexico. She immigrated to the United States in the 1960's. She lived her life with faith in the Lord, which she passed on to her sons. She was always welcoming and offering comfort food. She will be missed by many family and friends.

Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, IL 60162 (located between Mannheim & Wolf Road). Funeral to follow Monday, July 22, 2024 from Russo’s Hillside Chapels at 10:00 A.M. proceeding to Holy Virgin Martyrs / St. Beatrice Catholic Church, 4157 Atlantic Ave, Schiller Park, IL 60176.
