Barbara Ann Granata, nee LaPorte, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in her daughter’s home in Fairhope, Alabama at the golden age of 87. Beloved Wife of the late Louis Granata. Devoted Mother of Randy (Randall) Granata and Robin (Ed) Joly. Loving Daughter of the late Louis and the late Philomena, nee D’Orio, LaPorte. Fond Grandmother of Chritopher, Alexandra, Courtney, Patrick (Kassie), Zed, Joshua, Zaden and Zane. Loving Great-Grandmother of Allison, Levi and Emilia. Dear Sister of the late Allen (the late Marilyn) LaPorte. Dear Aunt of Nieces & Nephews.
Barbara worked part time in the hospitality industry for the O’Hare Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois for more than 40 years (never retired). Barbara was a woman of grace, full of life, who genuinely loved people. Barbara will be deeply missed, yet she made it known she was going to be with The Father. She was a woman of deep faith and an incredible witness to what it means to be made in his image.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's name to Equine Dreams would be greatly appreciated. https://www.paypal.com/fundraiser/charity/4451226 Mom always had a heart for children. She knew this organization well (since 1998). Equine Dreams does not charge fees for their clients for services. They demonstrate the image of Christ and all of the fruits of the spirit.
