Alicia Arenas Obituary

Alicia S. Arenas passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the tranquility of her own home on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the Golden age of 80. Beloved Wife for a loving 56 years to Deacon Jose R. Arenas. Devoted Mother of Cesar (Hermelinda) Arenas, Marcos (Elizabeth) Arenas, Carlos (Blanca) Arenas and Mabell (Julio) Salgado. Loving Daughter of the late Ezequiel & Rafaela. Fond Grandmother of Cesar Eli Arenas Salazar, Alexis Adin Arenas Salazar, Lynda Midory, Marcos L. Arenas Banda, Valeery E. Arenas Banda, Alizza E. Arenas Banda, Blanca Paola Arenas, Carlo Emiliano Arenas, Rebecca Raquel Arenas, Samantha Alejandra Arenas, Emmanuel Maximiliano Arenas, Andrea Anamaria Arenas, Matteo Emilio Arenas, Antonio Jose Arenas, Baby Girl Arenas, Julian Salgado-Arenas, Tristan Donato Salgado-Arenas, Alan Sebastian Salgado-Arenas and Milan Alberto Salgado-Arenas. Dear Sister of the late Rumaldo Sanchez, the late Altagracia Sanchez, the late Jesus Jose Sanchez, Elidia Sanchez and Enedina Sanchez.  Dear Aunt of many Nieces and Nephews. Alicia was consecrated at the age of 13 to the Hija de Maria congregation. Alicia and Jose have been very active with the loving community of the Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Melrose Park.  Alicia was so very proud of her nephew, Fr. Esequiel Sanchez.

Family and friends are to gather for the visitation on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162 (located between Mannheim & Wolf Road). Funeral to follow on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from Russo’s Hillside Chapels at 9:00 a.m. Proceeding to the Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1101 23rd Avenue, Melrose Park, Illinois. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois. For additional information please call (708) 449-5300.
